Checklist - Fathers Day Gift Ideas
You & Your Baby - Checklist

Father’s Day is almost here. Don’t you dare let another tie or barbeque set even enter your mind as this year’s gift! Here are a few testosterone-induced ideas that are sure to receive a few “Ar, ar, ars”—and won’t disappear into the “I have no idea what happened to that gift, honey” black hole.

  • Hobby Workshops. From home improvement stores to your local fish and game department, you’ll find workshops sure to please any dad (and many of them free!). Has he always wanted to learn how to fly fish? Or maybe he and the kids could build a bird house together. Stop by your local store or check out their web site for a listing of classes. If something more active is his style, log onto L.L.Bean and discover their Walk-On Adventures, which include classes in fly casting, kayaking, archery, clay shooting, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing. Each workshop has a nominal fee ($15) and can include the kids (ages 8 and up for most of them). They even provide all the necessary gear.

  • The Diaper Vest. I know what you’re thinking. What kind of manly gift is that? But when it replaces dad having to carry around a diaper bag, it suddenly gives it new light, huh? That’s right. This vest includes pockets for travel wipes, diapers, cell phone (a necessity for any diaper change!), and bottles. It’s stylish and no one will know he’s actually wearing a diaper bag! Check it out!

  • Coupon Book. Here’s a gift that’s completely homemade with love. Have your kids choose different chores and services they can do for Dad, from back rubs to raking the lawn to picking up their toys without complaining. Create coupons with their “promises” and package them into a coupon booklet. It’s a gift from the heart that any dad would appreciate.
  • Create a Testosterone-Filled Gift Basket. What’s the dad on your list like to do? Take a basket and fill it with theme-based goodies, from gift cards to candy to small tools…even men’s spa products. Want to ratchet it up a notch? Use a helmet as your basket!
  • Breakfast in Bed. When all else fails, who doesn’t like to be waited on? And what better place to do it than in bed. Gather the kids up early this Sunday and fill your home with scintillating aromas with Dad’s favorite breakfast foods.
