At this age, they are working on their self-feeding skills, so offering finger foods is important. Finger foods should be soft and cut into bite-size pieces. Avoid hard choking hazard type items (like nuts, raw carrots, even hot dogs unless cut crosswise can be a choking hazard). We also wait on eggs and honey until after a year of age.
