coughing   Question My daughter is 5years old and she gets a cough all the time Most of the time she will cough at night When she gets a cough she will get it for a week or two then it goes away for a week then comes back 2 weeks later so on and so forth This has been going on for a while Like since a year ago or even longer THe doctor has listtened to her lungs at every app she has She has had bronchitis before but her lungs are clear right now I have a cool mist vaporizer in her room and I have given her allergy cough syrup before she goes to bed and she still coughs thinking it was allergies 'WHat should i do Then she doesn't get her sleep because she coughs too much at night She does still cough during the day Any suggestions Thanks We have never smoked at all

loose stools Question My son who is 4 1/2 mo's has had some loose bowels everytime i change his diaper It's a yellowish green and has a funny smell with like cottage cheese looking pieces When he turned 4 mo's I started giving him a little baby food I gave him sweet potaotes then couple days later I gave him squash about 2 days later he was having a bowel movement every diaper change and this has been going on for 4 days He has no fever is eating fine and seems happy with his usual occasinal fussiness From all this his bottom is very sore and red and has started to blister a little Could this have happened from the baby food I haven't given him anymore since this happened but I gave him a little rice cereal today with his formula Also I've given him some pedialyte in between bottles So does he need to be seen by a doctor or should I wait it out

puberty and ear infection Question My daughter is 7 months old and she has a little bit of hair on her private area Is this normal She has been using doctor browns bottles and the news said that it could start puberty real early due to the # 7 on the bottle which is the plastic from the bottle leeches into the milk juice etc So i just bought glass bottles What do you think Thanks Also she has had an ear infection at 3 months and she had another one a month ago She went on antibiotics then that didn't work then another antibiotic because she still had the infection then she had to have the shot for the ear infection Last week it started to clear up now i took her in today and it is VERY bad ITS WORSE So they want her to have tubes in both ears WOuld this be ok also THAnks alot

don't want to eat Question My 3 month old baby girl dosen't seems to eat in the mornig She will wake up around 6:30 am but the first bottle she will eat around noon And she will eat only 3 4 oz I am trying to give her bottle every hour since she will wake up but she is just fussing and spitting up anything she will get in her mouth And after noon she will eat every 3 4 hours 3 4 oz The last meal she will have aroung 8 pm and then she is falling asleep Wake up only once during the night (around 2 am) and then she will wake up around 6:30 and it is again the same story She dosen't seem sick and she seems satisfited but she definitly dosen't eat the amount she should What can I do It started about 4 days ago

little things Question Hi my daughter will be 3 months in one week and I am verry worried that there is something wrong with her I will have next pediatric appoitment in 1 month for vaccination and I don't want to call the doc for no reason so please could you help me and if you will tell me to worry then I will call The thing is that she is sleepping funny She is only 3 months and she can do not sleep for many hours It's like she will wake up at 4 am and go to bed at 8 pm Yes she will dose of on my arms and she will sleep there till I wil try to put her down and then bum she is awake again ANd then on others day it's like she sleeps all the time Besides that sometimes her eyes are a liitle red and could that be allergies Or just sighn of being tired And on more question She is putting her hands to her mouth all the time She is "eating " them all day long (when she is not sleeping) I tried giving her pacyfire but she dosen't want it She just wants her hands Befor she was "eating" her hands just when she was hungry but now it's all the time I can figure out now when she is hungry by the way she is eating them (the hands) but still should I be worried I tried putting something in her hands but she dosen't want to grab anything yet What do you think I am crazy worried since this is my first child and I don't know what to expect DOn't have nbobady besides my partner so I am on my own Please help Thank you verry much

sitting up Question My daughter will be 7 months old on the 25th She is not sitting up yet SHould there be a concern That is by her self anyway I will put her on the floor sitting up and let go for one second and she will sit up be herself for about that one second

Stuffy nose Question My baby is 16 weeks old she has a stuffy nose no fever She gags and coughs when it goes down her throat I try to syringe it out of her nose but it seems hardly any comes out What can I do for her

febrile seizures Question My daughter is 15 months old and had a febrile seizure last week She stopped breathing and turned blue I am told she has a 30 percent chance of another seizure My biggest worry is that she will stop breathing again but this time it will be of longer duration and she could incur brain damage What are the odds of this happening with a febrile seizure I know that they can last up to 10 minutes would a child stop breathing for that amount of time I am so worried about this Thank you in advance for your help

how do you deal with slivers in toddlers? Question This may be a silly questions but any sujestions would be helpful My 2 year old has been playing outside lots and got into some old rough boards now he has a few slivers in his hands and one looks red and sore but he will not for the life of me let me try to get them out Any ideas on what I could do

sleeping at night Question I bought a conair sound machine and i used it one night I didn't turn it up too loud because she kept waking up every 2 ot 3 hours I thought that would be disturbing her sleep SHe is very curious about noise around her She is 6 months old now I put her in bed last night 9:30 she cried for about 10 minutes and she fell asleep Woke up crying around 1 then 3 then woke up 5:30 am I got her up then I left her alone for the 2 times she woke up at night and she went back to sleep I had the sound machine at white noise but not too loud AM i doing something wrong Ever since she was born she would wake up 2 ot 3 times at night and i would leave her alone adn she would fall back asleep but there are times that i still once in a while have to get her up due to screaming Please give some advice Thanks

feeding rituals Question My baby is 10 weeks old and she still eats and sleeps like a newborn It is exositing for me since I am the one to take care of her day and night My partner is working all day and at night he needs rest And we don 't have nobady here So she is 10 weeks old she is gainig waight normaly growing normaly and everything seems perfect expect she is eating 2 3 oz every 2 hours even at night She dosent nap much during the day but she can 'r sit still She is not interested in moving opbjects she just want 's to be held and I have to walk with her And then at night she wikll wake up every 2 hours to be feed I am exousted I asked her pediatritian and she said as long as she is gainnig waight that 's fine My friend saw that I am exousted and told me that I should start putting some rice cearal to her milk and that will make her fuller longer Do you think it 's a good Idea or is it too soon for her

sleeping Question HELP My 6 month old daughter is waking up every 2 hours now I bought the sound machine and put it on white noise and she still woke up 3 times in the night She used to sleep well I let her cry for about 10 minutes but if she is screaming I pick her up I get her a bottle and she only drinks 1 ounce or 2 and falls back asleep again The Dr told us to let her cry for even 50 minutes I asked him how long should i let her cry and thats what he said What do i do DO i do the sound machine again How long will it take for her to sleep through the night again Please I need some suggestions Thanks

4 days no po op light fever Question baby is 4 month old didnt poop for 4 days now what cn i do now he got a temp of 99 4 and wants to sleep and eat all day onle other he is fussy and cranky never before im only breastfeeding him i called the hospital they sai to give hom tylenol and nose dropsevey few hours any other advise thank you

constipaded Question Hi I had a baby 2 months ago by c section During the pregnancy I was verry regular I did poo poo at least every other day Befor pregnancy it wasn't so good I could go without for 2 weeks even And now I was hoping that since during pregnancy I was so regular I would stay like that but NO Again I can go weeks without empting my bowls I am on the diet currently eating fruits vegetables broiled chicken breast and yoghurt Do you think that's why I am so constipaded When I was pregnent I eat a lot And I gained 70 pounds and now I am eating much much less and do you think maybe that's why I don't have bowl movment What can I do to be regular I tried activia fiber pills and nothing helped and I don't want to go to laxitives PLEASE HELP ME because I am missrable Oh and I am not breast feeding any more

holding back Question At my newborn son's first pediatrician visit the dr asked me how my mood was the last two weeks of pegnancy and was I depressed at all I told him everything was fine however due to some personal problems I was actually crying almost everyday for the last 2 weeks The rest of my pregnancy was fine until then Why did the dr ask me that Is this the reason why my son is so moody (not wanting to be touched while he is with me especially by my husband) Or did he ask for a another reason

Swaddling Issues Question my baby is 3 months old (14 weeks) I have been swaddling her for sleep since birth and have had much success she seems to love sleeping while swaddled Lately since she is becoming stronger and bigger she is able to wrestle her hands free and when her hands are by her face she immediately wakes herself and is unable to sleep (cries fusses etc ) Any suggestions on how to either wean her off of swaddling or any other ideas you may have would be much appreciated I do realize that babies cannot be swaddled indefinitely and she is showing signs of recognizing her hands (ie: reaching for things sucking fists) but while she is asleep she is still waking herself up with her hands touching her face I would just like to stop swaddling gradually so as not to create huge sleep problems while while getting her used to sleeping with her hands free

Me again Question My baby is 1 month old and she has troubles because she is chocking while eating and she is breathing funny like she was trying to push and it is happening a lot in day and night I went to the doctor and she said everytjing looks fine and she dosen't have reflux But then 2 days ago I was feeding her and 20 min later she throu up and there was blood in it I cald a doctor and the pediatritian told me to go to the hospital to ER I went they took her blood check her and said she dosen't have anemia or nothing and everything looks fine The next day I went to the doctor with her and she said that it might be because I drink cow milk and she might be not tolerating it and the same with Enfamil Lipil with iron formula ( I am breast feeding and bottle feeding) But why now all of the sudden she might have troubles with it And dose the bteathing like she is pushing and turning red while doing that is sighn of gas or doing poo poo So what do you think And lattly after every meal she is spliting up I hold her up for 20 min after feeding and the moment I will put her down she will splitt up Is it normal> Or maybe I have to hold her longer And is it possible to have reactions like that because I drink cow milk I don't realy like soy milk so I don't want to drink it but if that will help my baby I will Thank you for your help

Reflux? Question When I a feeding my baby she is sometimes chocking Dosent matter if I am feeding her with bottle or with brest How can I prevent that And sometimes she is breathing funny like she would like to push like woman in labor And today when she was a sleep I heard that ( breathing like pushing) and the she couldn't catch her breath and she started to let a lot of seliva out of her moth and she stared to become purple So I called 911 but when the come she was fine What should I do if situation like that happen again And how can I ease her breathing I am sorry I just panic I am affraid that she will suffisticate one day Please help Is it reflux But she is gaining waight She gained 2 lb in 2 weeks and she is not spliting up often What should I do

Few questions Question My doughter is 1 week old and I am trying to get her to pediatrician but I have some insurance troubles Hopfully I will get her in this week But till then I am going crazy about few things 1) She has a lot of hiccup Like 3 4 times a day What cousing them Are they dangerouse How can I help 2) She has a lot of red spots on her tommy tights and arms It almost looks like rush Sometimes it's better other day not Is it realy dangerouse What can couse it (i know that without seeing it it's hard to say) 3) It is realy hard sometimes for me to burp her SOmetimes I can pat her back for 20 min and I still get nothing Am I doing something wrong How bad it is to put baby without burping I am sorry for all that questions but I am soooooo worried about her that I can bearly sleep I want everything to be ok and since this is my first child and my first contact with a newborn I don't realy know what to do PLEASE HELP ME

waking up Question My daughter is going to be 5 months old on the 25th Recently she has been going to bed around 9:30 and sleeping until 6 or 7 am Now she will go to bed around 9 or 10 pm and wake up around 4 or 5 am Lat night I put her in bed at 9:30 adn woke up at 10:30 screaming I fed her an ounce of formula and she slept until 4 am SHe used to sleep until 7:00 Why She did get checked for an ear infection adn she does have a small one but they don't think that she would be screaming just for a small infection She has been on the med for a couple of days Could it be her teeth THat;s all I could think of SHe does not have a sound machine I didn't buy her one yet because she was sleeping so good DOes she need a sound machinek or is it her teeth Thanks a bunch

Its me again!! Question My girl fusses early in the morning for like an hour or 2 she will push and grunt and then pass gas then she will sleep for like 5 minutes then do it again is there anything I can do for gas for her I try to burp her well before going to bed but sometimes she just doesn't burp she has done this for the past week she is 7 weeks old today Thanks

Eczema Question My daughter is 3 months old and has been diagnosed with eczema She has pretty bad flareups on either side of her cheeks where it seems she either has too much contact with her clothes or is wet from drool or milk leaking while nursing She was prescribed some steroid based cream (mometasone) to use sparingly on these flare ups and told to use aquaphor on the rest of her body She is extremely dry all over and gets various rashes on her neck underarms and other creases Can you suggest anything to add to this course of treatment and maybe some natural way of treating flare ups rather than steriod based medication Thank you
