Change in Sleep Habits more less Question My baby is 11 weeks old and has stopped sleeping the last few days   He used to sleep about 10 hours at night he wakes up 2 times to breastfeed and then takes 2 two hour naps during the day   The past couple of days he keeps waking up every half hour or so and seem so unhappy   I have tried feeding him   He will fall asleep but then wake up still before he should be   He hasn't been taking great naps during the day either but will then sleep for like 4 hours around dinnertime   He was born 8 weeks early so I know he's still a little guy but it is making me nuts not knowing what to do to help him   I know he's too young still to cry it out so what can I do

Decrease in Milk Supply Still more less Question It's been a couple of weeks now and my supply seems to still be way down   It started decreasing right before Christmas so you had said it could be caused by stress   I have been pumping 2 3 times extra a day and taking More Milk supplements   My baby was a preemie so he takes about 3 1/2 ounces every 4 hours (he's 11 weeks old) and I'm afraid he may not be getting enough   I pump so that I can have an extra supply but each time I do I only get about 1 2 ounces total   It takes me just about a whole day to pump 2 3 times to get just one bottle's worth to freeze   I'm getting more worried like I said b/c it has been a while like this   What else can I do

Baby Smacking more less Question This may sound unusual but my 12 week old son likes to smack his lips and gums this just started happening like a week ago At first my husband and I thought this may because he is hungry but that wasn't the case because he would do it after he was fed changed played with or anytime He also has been drooling for at least a month now he suffers from acid reflux but I don't think it has anything to do with that or could I can't imagine him starting to teeth isn't he too young for this I mean it doesn't bother him but I was just curious what this behavior could be or a precursor for something I should be on the look out for Thank You

baby stopped sleeping through the night more less Question Dear Dr Peter Vaccaro   My 10 month old baby girl stopped sleeping through the night after she turned 9 months We cannot figure out what is going on She was not a great sleeper since she was born but she started sleeping through the night about at 6 month She would wake up some nights once or twice but for the most part she slept ok She would sleep about 8 9 hours per night and about 2 3 sometimes 4 hours total per day We always felt that she never got enough sleep since she was always very cranky during the day and would rub her eyes and head and wanted to sleep but could not fall asleep on her own   We always had to help her to sleep during the day At her 9 months check up she got her vaccinations and seemed ok   Few days later she started sleeping very poorely   She would fall asleep at her usual time and wake up at the same time in the morning but she would not sleep through the night like she used to   She wakes up every 1 2 or 3 hours all night long and cries Sometimes I have to pick her up hold her for a few minutes and put her back to sleep   Sometimes it takes an hour to get her back to sleep   We do not know what to do We do not think that the vaccinations caused it   She is also very gassy baby since day one   Maybe she has some stomack pain but we do not know for sure We do not know if there is anything wrong with our baby but she does not seem to be sick with anything   Few months ago she had a bad cold and even then she slept fine Even whe she was teething she never had any problems with her sleep   What is your opinion on this issue We will really appreciate your answer Elena

Pooping... more less Question Hello its me again I have another question The only way I can get my daughter to poop comfortably is by giving her at least 2 ozs of apple juice a day Otherwise her poop will be hard as a rock and really really large balls I mean like 1/2 of her fist size and she's 6 months Is there any other solution Because prune juice doesn't work and she really doesn't like apple juice

2 wk old and no poop more less Question Hello I wanted to ask a question in reference to my 2 wk old baby After being discharged from the Hospital my baby did not have any BM I was breastfeeding in the hospital and then quickly had to put her on a combination of breast milk and formula as I was not producing enough milk and ended up fidning it very difficult to breastfeed My baby had not pooped for 3 days and I could tell she was very uncomfortable I asked the peditrician who suggested I use a rectal themometer to stimulate her anus and help her go which worked She had a HUGE BM So I figred everything was fine and she would be regulated after that Unfortunately she went another 3 days with no BM and being uncomfortable and fussy (she always pulls her legs up to her chest and grunts and cries ) I called the pediatrician again who told me to use the rectal themometer assuring me that it is just taking her longer to learn how to have BM on her own Sure enough the trick worker and she was regular for about 2 days pooping frequently I had also switched formulas at this time which I thinkg might have helped Then it stopped again for 5 days no poop and the rectal themometer trick did not worked I tried it 3 times over the course of the 5 days and nothing I am really concerned and not sure what to do I would like a second opinion and ask if there is anything else I can do to help regulate her BM's and ease her discomfort Everyone seems to be telling me to let nature take its course and eventually she will start going on her own It makes me upset and frustrated that I can not do anything else to help her poop and feel more comfortable Should I try to change formulas again Please Help
