Hello my name is michelle and i am due on june 11 2008 and i am scared to go into labor I was woundering what can i do to take the pain away i dont want any medications or injections but last time i had a baby the nurses made me lay on my back and i wanted to lay on my side because i handled the pain better but they would'nt let me I've read that lying on your back is very painful and if you were to get up in walk it eases pain and also if you get on your hands and knees and rock or talke a shower why your there at the hospital do these work and can i do them here in texas or is it just like california hospitals

Wisdom Teeth

I am 15 weeks pregnant and am having horrible wisdom teeth problems (I only have the bottom two) I know that they are impacted and they have started to break through the skin It's now giving me terrible headaches and it hurts to even open my mouth What are my options obvioulsy caring about the baby before anything else

Hi I just made my birthing plan and found info regarding reasons to not have pitocin following birth to help pass the placenta My midwife suggested I do more research because she stated having it helps to prevent against hemmoraging What do you think Thanks Rizzo

I woke up this morning and I am leaking little bits of fluid I also have a yellowish brown very thick discharge I am having some cramping and I am 37 weeks dialated 3 cm and effaced 70 What does this mean if anything or am I just worrying too much

Hi I am currently 24 weeks pregnant Recently my boyfriend and I lost our place and have been looking for a new one but I have been so depressed and upset lately because we're now 300 miles away from eachother and Im having to live with my mom and she has a daycare and Its so hard to take the stress and pressure of everyone and everything I just feel like Im not sure if its the right idea to be pregnant or have a baby in this condition Is that normal or is something wrong with me What should I do All the kids come sick all the time which makes me get the sickness and my mom just says get over it and stop stressing but I dont want it to harm my baby What should I do

I was just at the doctors on thursday and he said that I was dialated to 3 5 maybe more I am having a lot of pressure in my rectal area and some pains in my lower back and very little in my LOWER abdomon This isnt labor is it also how would you know if your water bag had a hole in it

Proper prenatal care in 2nd trimester on when pregnant with idential twins

My OB is great but I am seriously concerned found out last week they are identical which means they are at even more risks for complications

I've read on the Mayo Clinic website the March of Dimes Website that twin pregnancies should be monitored/have ultrasounds eveyr other week in the 2nd trimester and up to every week in the last The twin to twin transfer foundation recomments ultrasounds ev ery week at 1t weeks for monochorionic twins

I saw my doctor last week at 9 weeks have a nucleal (sp) scan at 12 weeks for 1st trimester screening then don't see her until I'm in week 16 almost 4 weeks after the scan She thinks this is fine in fact she said she will only see me once every 4 weeks until I'm 24 weeks where she'll see me every other week

What is the standard care in ID twins AM I wrong/are the websites I found wrong

If not I have Kaiser what can I do are there any articles or ways I can get Kaiser to get me the proper prenatal care to avoid complications like TTTS from damaging the twins

Thanks in advance I am seriously worried

I am now 20 weeks and have not felt the baby at all I feel nothing no pain no kicks no movements no nothing I haven't gained weight i show no belly in fact i have lost weight and clothes are fitting actually better I had no symtoms ie morning sickness cravings pain nothing BUT I AM PREGNANT sonograms are positive heartbeats are perfect Should I be worried BECAUSE I AM Yes first baby

Group Beta Strep; Membrane sweeping

Hi again Today's question is two part First when I go in on Tuesday for my appt i will be just about finished with my 35th week I am gonna be tested for the group beta strep How long does it take to get the results My midwife told me if I test negative then they will do membrane sweeping maybe even twice a week If I test positive then they cannot be as aggressive I am told that if my blood pressure stays down they still want to induce me at 39 weeks (andmabye even at 39 weeks and 6 days) but that they will do the membrane sweeping to help me go into labor before that time When should my membrane sweeping start If my baby does not come on her own sooner then I would prefer to not go into labor until around 38 weeks or so How much of a guarantee is it that the membrane sweeping even twice a week will put me into labor Anything else I should be asking doing or considering Thanks Rizzo

I had my thyroid tested and found out that my T3 levels are low ( 7) The TSH is normal My baby is 7 weeks Is this common in the postpartum period Would you treat it at this point

Hi im 37 I had my lmp on april 6th for 3 days normal for me on the 10th had a pap everything came back good On the 12th had light spotting like only there when i wiped and a bit overnight i had really sore breasts cramps and headaches like everynite Havent had another period yet this week except for monday i havent had any bloatedness and i only have slight little cramps like you would get before your period>> so confused we are trying i have never had mid cycle spotting if thats what we call it I took a pee test about an hour ago came out negative what do you think Frustrating to say the least

i read that the baby can hear now so i decided to let him listen to music i put my ear piece to my i pod in my belly button and let him listen my mother in law saw me do this and freaked ou she said it is bad for the baby and i am gooing to ruin his ears is this true

I am not really sure if I am feeling any BH I do feel my stomach tightening but I would desribe that feeling more like the baby is moving or flipping around It is not like I need to stop what I am doing because of this feeling It is more subtle Is it possible some people do not get BH

Almost 33 weeks

My last child was born at 37 weeks and weighed 8lbs 14 oz I a just over 5 ft tall and normally weigh only about 130 My husband was a large baby and so was his brother both around 9 lbs I had a cesarian with him due to his size and my blood pressure shot up around 36 weeks

My ultrasound at 31 weeks with this new baby measured him already with a due date of June 10th and that he weighed 4 8 at that time My tummy measurement put me already at 36 wks when I was only 31 I am worried that this baby will be just as large as my first child My OB does not want to schedule my cesarian until 10 days before my due date I have had very painful contractions sometimes frequent sometimes not for several wks already and I do not "feel" like my body can handle going much past the 37 wks mark as this baby already probably weighs about 5 lbs When is it "safe" to schedule a cesarian and am I totally rediculous for asking that it be done earlier than 10 days before my due date Thanks :)

Always worried

Hi This is my second pregnany and my first ended in miscarriage The first time around I made it to ten weeks and there was no heartbeat and the baby only measured at about 8 weeks This time we did an ultrasound at 8 weeks everything was fine and heard the heartbeat about 10 and a half weeks Currently I am about 13 1/2 weeks pregnant I am very excited but I always tend to find something to worry about So my question this week is about when should I start showing and my stomach to feel alittle harder I am a small frame and was never really overweight I could have probably lost about 5 or so pounds prior to pregnancy but that would fluctuate It is just in the mornings I feel so much thinner and get myself all concerned I guess I just don't know what to expect really or when things should be happening Any thoughts or information would be helpful to me right now Thanks so much

First time 35 Weeks with twins Fetal movement cramps etc

Hi I am 35 weeks with two boys They were already 4lbs 5 oz last appointment which was almost 3 weeks ago I have an appointment Monday Im getting really really strong pains when they move and when I get out of bed or move to my side and I know its probbably just because they are so big and soo heavy and there is no space in there I am 5'0 feet tall I have a couple of questions for the past couple of weeks but more now I've had menstrual like feelings and cramping on my lower abdomen Yet i used to get contractions once in a while and I havent really at all now or I cant tell because the babies moving makes my stomach hard just not as much as the contractions before Is that normal And what about the cramping Does the mucous plug always come out before labor is approaching I've also felt water drip sometimes and it really sint pee its water is that ok Also how do I count fetal movement it's hard to tell which one is moving and one has always moved a lot more By when should they already be in position before determining the need for a c section One baby was in position but the other was head in the middle body completely on my side I felt him turn into position and you could clearly tell by my stomach and it was very painful but they are so short of sapce that I think he went back to where he had been Also if one baby is not in position should I ask for a c secton I dont want one normal and one c section anyway And with anemia how dangerous is that

Sorry soo many questions But I really appreciate your help and this blog is WONDERFUL
