very irregular period more less Question Hello I am trying to figure out when the best time to try to conceive is With my first daughter I was pregnant within the 2nd month of trying She's 5 now so that was awhile ago & I am not having as much luck this time I tried to figure out when I was ovulating but cannot pin point it I've always had an irregular period that was flipped I'll be off for one week & on for the rest of the month with a very heavy flow As a result I've been on BC since jr high In prep I've been off BC since April My period seems to be about every other week with flow lasting about 8 10 days (So really it's not actually every other week but isn't constant either) I was thinking of tracking my temp & using an ovulation test kit as it is impossible for me to predict when I'll start my period each time What would you recommend I do Thank you so much

short labors and long drives more less Question My first child was born in about 5 5 hours of labor from water breaking to actual birth   She was a somewhat large baby for my size (small frame and 5' 2") at 8lbs 10 ozs so even at 5 5 hours I still spent a long time pushing  I am exceedingly greatful for such a short labor and wouldn't have it any other way    I suspect that her large size was due to my own hypoglycemia and I hope to manage me eating better this pregancy so that we have a smaller baby since both my husband and myself were in the 6lb range   If my husband is at work we are looking at a 1 5 hour trip to get to the only available midwife in our area since home births are really not an option in our state   While I am not against birthing at home I AM uncomfortable with an unassisted birth in a car   I realize that I am asking for a LOT of assumptions here and that no one can predict the duration of my labor but based on your experience am I really pushing it to expect that we will arrive with time to spare or should I try to be realistic and settle for a traditional OB   I'm really unhappy with the prospect of going to a OB but feel I should try to be as sensible as possible

Heartbeat pausing on doppler? more less Question Hi I am about 21 weeks pregnant I have noticed lately though that when I listen to my baby's heartbeat on the doppler it will sometimes pause (and it doesn't seem like she's moving) It only seems to happen when I first put the doppler on my stomach I asked my midwife and she didn't seem concerned since I already had my big ultrasound and her heart looked great So I am just wondering are the pauses because she is slowly moving away from the doppler or could she have a murmur of some sort The HB will be in the 150's and then it will pause and then slowly start back up from 120 back to the normal rate
