sleep Question My son is 2yrs old and one month and he is having trouble sleeping through the night I have read countless books (easy 2 do as he wont sleep ) and tried a variety of methods We stick to the same routine every night Last thing before bed we have wind down time and he has a bottle of warm milk Shortly after we put him to sleep in his cot So initially there is no problem he doesnt protest and actually goes down quite calmly Roughly 2 hours or more after he has gone down he will wake up and start crying and wont stop until someone retrieves him We check on him and there is nothing wrong So we decided we would try a different method let him cry it out So that sounds pretty logical you would think that he would cry for less time or realise nobody is coming and give it up Not my son he will keep continuously crying eventually he falls asleep but then a few hours later he starts again Sometimes we give in and bring him to our bed once he is in the comfort of our bed he falls asleep immediately and sleeps through How do we get him to sleep through on his own Sleep deprivation is killing us During the day he gets plenty of activity and has even stopped having his afternoon nap We have also tried several different routines What we find is that the majority of textbooks etc all focus on the putting down thats the only bit we have got sussed its the sleeping through that is causing us problems Any help and advice would be appreciated Many thanks Raj Answer |

Ultrasound results Question During my last ultrasound on Monday I was sent to the hospital to have a second opinion ultrasound because my OB doctor couldn't get the pictures of the four chambers of the heart When I went to the hospital they said that everything looked great with the heart and the baby is growing good I'm 28 weeks and the baby weights 2lbs 10oz But they said something about the baby only had 2 vessels instead of 3 vessels that it is suppose to have But he said it was nothing to worry about because everything else was going good with the baby Is this something I should worry about I just don't know what he meant Answer |

gestational diabetes Question Hi Cathy I am at 29 weeks and last night 1 hour after dinner I tested the gluose which was 115 at 10:00pm (standard <140) I was surprised as I ate something slightly sweet This morning with empty stomach I tested with a reading of 94 at 7:30am (standard < 90 and in the past 2 days I was having 69 and 70 with empty stomch) Cathy do you think that the possible cause of high reading this morning 94 was due to last night's slightly sweet dinner Please advise and if I drink more water after dinner can this reduce the blood glucose level Thanks Answer |

Am I pregnant? Question I had a miscarriage in late July (first pregnancy) We had been TTC for about 6 months after getting off the pill in January I found out I was pregnant about 1 1/2 weeks before I miscarried I did not have a D&C b/c I was told I did not need one So I was told that we can start TTC again after one "bleed" after the miscarriage ended After I had gotten off the pill my cycles were 27 days From the day my miscarriage began until my first "bleed" after the miscarriage it was 27 days So we started TTC again and I have been having the same symptoms I had when I was pregnant the first time However I am now 4 days late (if you count the 27 day cycle) but I have taken 4 pregnancy tests (1 each day) and each one is coming up negative With my first pregnancy the test showed positive the day I was supposed to get my period I am very confused and a little concerned that something else could be wrong I had my annual exam right after I had gotten my first "bleed" after the miscarriage and the dr said everything looked good Could I be pregnant and the test is just not showing up yet Is this normal after having a miscarriage Any advice is appreciated Thanks Answer |
