Frequent nursing more less Question My 2 1/2 week old son nurses almost constantly during the day   My question is can I actually make enough milk to keep up with these frequent feedings   My breasts almost always feel empty   He does have plenty of wet and dirty diapers and he was 10oz over his birth weight at 10 days old so I assume he is getting enough over all but wondered if he is actually "eating" when he nurses all the time   Thanks

how often should a 10 month old nurse? more less Question Hi   I will be returning to work at the start of September   My daughter will be 10 months old and still nursing   I've never pumped and did the bottle thing    For the (roughly) 8 hours I will be gone in the day my husband will be with her   She is eating 3 meals a day   Whereas a few months ago I could easily pump 4 ounces to use for her cereal and such I have hardly nothing now (when I pump)   My original plan was to pump and leave a four ounce sippy cup for her for after her morning nap   Now I'm wondering if I can skip it altogether   This would mean I would nurse her before I left for work when I returned and then whenever she wanted after that   I am a teacher so I will be home by 4   This means she'll have slept for 3 5 hours of the time that I'm gone   How often does a ten month old need to nurse   Will she be ok with some kefir or water to drink while I'm gone (in addition to her solid food)

away from baby for 48 hours more less Question hi i'm a medical resident and have 30 hour call shifts since i went back to work 3 weeks ago   it 's hard for me but my baby has adjusted fine with daddy time and daycare   i'm still nursing and pumping so my question is this   my husband wants to take our son (will be 3 1/2 months at the time) out of town for a weekend to see uncle/grandparents and i won't see him for more than 48 hours   i'm at work during this weekend so essentially baby would only be missing 2 maybe 3 actual breast feedings but i'm worried about being away from him for that long   he'll be in the care of his father who has been very involved but i worry about the breastfeeding do you think that at 3 1/2 months breastfeeding is well established enough to allow that   my husband thinks it's fine since he's already done so well with multiple 30 hour shifts   i of course want him to be with me but i'm trying to be reasonable   thank you

Prior problems with breastfeeding more less Question Well with my first she never seemed to get enough milk with my second he didn't get back to birth weight until he was a month old and I was told that he didn't feed long enough to get to the hind milk So my question is is there a way to help my third breastfeed and gain the weight that is needed so her doctor won't have me supplement with formula and cause me to give up on breastfeeding because there isn't anyone at home with me to give a bottle during the day except me

issues with prior breastfeeding more less Question My daughter is almost 10 and my husband and I just found out that we are expecting this February   I breastfed my daughter in 1997 for about 3 months but had to stop when I went back to work   I was unable to pump enough to feed her properly in my absence   I had a Medela pump (thinking it was the best) but was still not able to make things work   I was embarrassed at the time to ask for help   I want to be successful this time   Can you think of any reason why I couldn't get things to work   For instance could the funnel shaped cups have been too small for me so that I need to order a bigger size (assuming they are available) Thank you for your help Meredith
