tandem nursing questions... more less Question I'll be 38 weeks this weekend I'm starting to wonder about a few things I have an (almost) 17 month old boy and am waiting on the anxiously waiting for the arrival of new baby I still have milk when will my colostrum come in for new baby My son still wakes at nights (most nights anyway) if he backs off on eating when the colostrum comes in can I use this as an opportuinity to gently night wean I really want to stop I'm exhausted I don't feel like it's very beneficial for our relationship anymore because I don't enjoy feeding him at night at all I just don't want to quit if he really needs me but I figure if he backs off then maybe it'll be okay I still feed him about 4 times a day Do I need to save one breast for him and the other for new baby This seems impossible my son likes to go back and forth Do I feed younger first then older or does it matter Will I get engorged like I did with my son (I had rock like breasts for about 3 days when my colostrum left and milk came in)   Any other advice I might need please let me know :) Thank you Carina

Getting enough milk?? more less Question I have a barely four month old and am wondering if he's getting enough milk   I am exclusively breastfeeding and he is still waking up once at night and then eats probably 5 6 other times during the day   He will wake up after an hour or less of napping and cry and cry I try to put the pacifier back in and it sometimes takes him quite a while to actually calm back down   He gets the bed kind of wet by "searching" which makes me wonder if he's hungry as well as still being tired   He also does cry sometimes when he's nursing after only about five minutes on each side and he also bites down on my nipple which makes me wonder if he's teething   I don't want to give any supplementation but don't know if I'm making enough I have tried pumping once the last three days in the morning to try to boost my supply and also freeze milk for babysitters but only get drops literally drops   I was able to nurse my first child until she was 10 months old so I am hoping to make it that long (or longer) with my second one   Are there any ways to boost milk production without feeding every two hours or less  We are just getting into a nice eatinig/playing/napping routine and I don't want to ruin that    Are there any natural foods or such to boost milk supply

crying when nursing more less Question Hi Heather   my baby is 3 months and 2 weeks old I have been exclusively BF since birth Lately she starts nursing with enthusiasm and within a couple of minutes starts crying (more like screaming) and stops nursing abruptly She is doing this on and off for weeks She is otherwise happy wets at least 6 8 diapers daily and has 3 to 5 dirty diapers daily It is very troubling that she stops nursing in this way I wouldnt mind if she just stopped and seemed content however she does seem to be hungry since as soon as she latches on again after such an episode she lets go crying again within seconds I am very upset by this situation I suspected she may be teething but I do not see any signs of enflamed gums I have even tried giving her expressed milk in a bottle and she is iffy about it however has taken an once or two on a couple occasions Please let me know if you have any ideas of what this may be I would really appreciate any help you can offer
