pain??

Sister in pain Hi Dr. Camann, My sister had a natural birth at home (she was not able to make it to the hospital). Afterwards the Paramedic would not give her any pain killers and she was in A LOT of pain. Why was she not able to take pain medicine after she gave birth???

Hello: It really is impossible to determine why no pain medications were used. While pain medications are used more routinely in the hospital than in out-of-hospital settings, the exact details of your sister's birth are not known to me, thus it is impossible to answer this question.
