I run 4 to 5 times a week and sweat a LOT. What style do you suggest for African American women that want to keep their hair looking GREAT but easy to manage? By the way, I am not too fun of the natural look (on me that is ) |

itness. :cheerleader: You are not alone. When surveyed, 7 out of 10 African American women said that the one issue that kept them from exercising regularly was maintaining their hair.
Because the hair is so thick, it takes longer
to dry and style. A simple shampoo and style can take up to two hours. The curlier the hair is, the more restricted the oil glands are that lubricate the hair and scalp. So shampooing too regularly can dry the hair out even more.

Here are a couple of "workout hair options" that are quick and easy to do after running to get you on your way.
*There are some really cute ponytail styles. The push up look, swoop to the side bang that wraps into th
e pony, etc. Pony tails or pen-ups can be smooth and sophisticated of loose and carefree and go from the boardroom to the ballpark. If you like longer lengths, there are some easy to apply pony tail extensions that come in a variety of
natural colors. These are very easy to attach and are inexpensive. Also pick up a selection of hair accessories to compliment your look, such as headbands, pony tail wraps, clips, etc.
*If you like the straight look and wrap
your hair. There's a portable plastic hairdryer that I found for $9.00. You can wrap the hair after running, cover with a wrap cap and place this plastic cap over your head. It attaches to the blow dryer. The hair dries in about
