Roslyn E. Baker has had an integral role in the launch and growth of the Soft
& Beautiful Just for Me brand, the #1 children's hair care line in the ethnic
hair care industry. In the midst of conducting product research on the management
of extra-curly or hard-to-manage hair, she has formulated the best method for
achieving maximum conditioning and ease of care for young girls' hair while making
it safe for moms to apply at home.
Her research findings were critical to the development phase of the Just for Me
Texture Softener system. The system is designed so that moms who decide to straighten
their daughters' hair can easily and safely integrate into the Just for Me relaxer
system.
A seasoned professional in the hair care industry, Ms. Baker began her twenty-five-year
career in Cosmetology under the tutelage of Vikki McGruder, her mother and mentor.
She earned a BBA with an emphasis on marketing from Southern Methodist University.
Roslyn then began a ten-year stint at Revlon Realistic Products as a platform
artist while simultaneously operating as co-owner of the salon, Reflections
by Vikki and Roz. Her work has appeared in magazines such as Essence, Hype Hair,
Shop Talk, and others. Roslyn regularly reports on hair trends and hair care
issues in various media.
In 1991 Roslyn joined the Pro-line International Marketing team where she has
served for eleven years in various capacities. One of her most notable achievements
was the development and launch of the multi-million dollar brand, Soft &
Beautiful Botanicals. Roslyn served five years as Director of International
Marketing for Pro-Line and opened markets in Brazil, Eastern Europe, the Caribbean
and West and South Africa. She is currently an HBA Educational and Marketing
Consultant for Pro-Line and their leading trade partners, Target, Sally and
RiteAid.
