Chlorine

Can my children be harmed by chlorine in pools this summer???? Is there an alternative to the chemicle?

Splashing and playing in a pool is a rite of summer. Keeping that pool free of disease and pathogens is important so that you don’t get sick. Chlorination is used to do just that – keep the pool healthy. But, you are right to ask – chlorination and chlorination by-products (chemicals formed as a result of the chlorine added to the pool) have been linked to some health problems. Chlorination and chlorination by-products have been associated with increased risks of certain cancers in competitive swimmers – those swimmers that swim several hours every day.
