nagging upper back pain

Carrie,

 I'm about 61/2 weeks pregnant and have bad back pain. Is it ok. to use BenGay or BioFreeze for the pain? What can I do to alleviate it? I'm seeing my chiropractor today, and I hope he'll have some ideas too.

Hi, Suzanne! I honestly don't know if BenGay or BioFreeze are compatible with pregnancy. Read the labels and ask your doctor. I'm curious about what your chiropractor told you. I can certainly recommend that you work on strengthening your upper back muscles. Any of the rows (upright, bent-over, seated...) are great for strengthening those muscles.
