weight gain during pregnancy Question I have only put on 3lbs of weight during my pregnancy so far (I am now 19 weeks) although my baby is growing normally and I am increasing in size as I would expect I have read many articles and books which tell me that I should be gaining between 0 5 and 1Lb a week but this is not happening for me I have a pre pregnancy bmi of 23 which is within the normal range eat a very healthy and varied diet and still do weights run and do aqua aerobics 3 4 times a week as well as walking daily I work with children so am always on my feet but can't even say I overdo it as I have plenty of rest time do forego some of my exercises if I feel too tired I have even given in to my cravings for black chocolate and mint icecream on occasion and have increased my calorie intake by around 3 400 calories a day but am not gaining the amount of weight considered healthy I mainly snack on nuts seeds and soft fruits which is no different to before I got pregnant I feel fantastic and dont look small for my dates so do I have anything to worry about with only gaining a few pounds so far your advice would be welcome Answer |

I have bad knees Question I was a runner last year until I got a knee injury It has been about a year now since I ran on a regular basis I try to stay fit by walking swimming doing out door activities and just staying active I noticed more and more lately that walking is really bothering my knees I have balls behind both of my knees and it feels like the blood flow from my knee to my feet is constrained Now I am afraid I will gain weight due to the lack of activity Do you suggest any cardio that I can do to stay fit that will not bother my knees Answer |
