Help! more less Question Hi Carrie My husband ad I are currently trying to get pregnant with baby #2 I've never been into working out but before baby #1 I was at a good weight (5 foot 3 inches and 115 lbs) During my first pregnancy I formed some very unhealthy eating habits I worked at a bakery and of course ate just about everything I was exposed to Suprisingly I only gained 35 lbs and 2 weeks after the birth of my daughter I only had 7 lbs of weight to lose Between then and now probably because I've kept my unhealthy eating habits I've gained more weight I now weigh 138 I don't excersise much because of lack of time (thanks to my sweet little one I already have) abut I don't want to be a blimp at the end of my next pregnancy What can I do as far as excersing goes to make sure I stay as healthy as possible As far as a healthy diet what can I do change my old habits

Appropriate Heart Rate? more less Question Hi I was wondering what the healthy heart rate (during exercise) is during pregnancy Does it vary by trimester I vaguely remember my midwife saying that about 120 is reasonable but somehow it doesn't take much for me to get to 120 these days (I'm 12w) and to stay in the 120 130 range I have to walk much slower on the treadmill than I am used to when exercising (say 3 4mph instead of 3 8) What do you think Thanks Melissa

No Weight Loss Despite Effort more less Question Dear Carrie:Before becoming pregnant I was 122 lbs and (according to my gym & home scale) apprx 19 body fat During my pregnancy I gained 37 lbs but I continued with my workout (45 minutes of step and 45 minutes of strength 3 4 times a week) during my entire pregnancy I had my baby 5 weeks ago and lost 25 lbs within the first 2 weeks In the past3 weeks I have lost another inch all over and lost body fat (currently at 23 according to home scale) but have not lost one pound I am stuck at 134 I am only working out 2 3 times a week (only 45 minutes per session) due to exhaustion and lack of child care So until I can get back into my regular routine I have been dieting apprx 1100 1300 calories a day Why can I not lose some more weight I am not used to trying and not losing I didn't expect to lose all of it through dieting but it seems I should lose some Any suggestions Thanks Angela

Stubborn areas more less Question Hello Carrie :) I have 2 children aged 8 and 3 and a half After my son I went right back to normal weght of 115 Before I had my daughter my weight crept up to 125 and after having her went right back to that in about 2 months I stayed at 125 for about a year and for about 2 years now have noticed a steady increase in weight I now weigh 150 but it seems to only go in certain areas My body is getting very unproportioned My upper legs are quite big and so is my bum Now the past 5 months or so I've noticed that I'm getting a roll right around my middle I'm fairly skinny everywhere else I walk about a half hour a few (maybe 3) times a week I eat healthy food and I use a stepping machine a few times a week (bought it thinking it would help my upper legs and bum) Should I be doing a cardio workout before trying to exercise certain areas Would it melt the fat faster It's just something I heard not sure if that's maybe the reason I'm not losing anything
