Losing the weight Question I had my daughter 12 weeks ago and I have been working out for 8 weeks now I dropped a good chunk of my weight but it seems as if my body wants to hold on to the last 15 lbs I do cardio 4 6 times a week and lift those days as well I am also breastfeeding and counting my calorie intake during the day With all of this I know that I am burning more than I am taking in so why is the weight not coming off Do some bodies hang on to extra weight Will it come off I also want to note that I eat plenty of fruit veggies and protein for breastfeeding to give her the nbutrition she needs |

Trying to lose weight after D & C - before TTC again Question I just had a D & C and have decided I should lose weight before TTC again 30 to 35 lbs is the goal to lose by April 2008 Does this sound reasonable & safe if I am also preparing my body for another pregnancy Is the rapid weight loss considered negative in any way I know that being overweight can increase chances of miscarriage so it is important for me to lose some weight before trying again What would you recommend 5'1 and 199lbs |

jogging during pregnancy Question Before I conceived I was running about 3 miles daily Pre pregnant I was between 117lb 119lb (5'5 in height and 29 years old) I cut back exercising until a week ago because of nausea/light headedness I am now 12 weeks and beginning to feel better I would really love to slowly start jogging again Walking is great too but I don't sweat nearly as much nor feel like I got that great of a workout In addition the 3 miles would take less than 30 min but walking it takes 45 min to an hour What would you recommend at this point Answer |

Abdominals & Update on "No Weight Loss Despite Effort" Question Hi I was just wondering if there are any specific exercises that are good for closing the gap in your abdminals following child birth and/or any that you should avoid until the gap is closed I've read some articles on this but they're not very informative and don't suggest actual exercises Also a few months back I wrote in about not being able to lose weight after having my baby Turns out it was my thyroid Just throwing it out there for other readers who might be having some trouble with weight loss after childbirth I'm fine now & back to my pre pregnancy weight Angela Answer |

What's your opinion on this book? Question Hello My questions are two fold I am a person who is trying to conceive and I am an aerobics instructor I teach 3 step aerobics classes a week I also attend weight training 2 times a week and help co teach a children's exercise class I am currently working on my certification to instruct "Exercise and Pregnancy" at my gym I was reading other post where you recommend some helpful books I just ordered the book text by James F Clapp I was wondering what (if any) is your opinion of text by Karen Nordahl Since I just order the book by Clapp would this book be of any help to me OR will it be a repeat of Clapp's book I also wanted to know if you could clarify what you mean when you say "listen to your body " At times I have soreness (after working out usually the next day) usually from lifting but the soreness is not painful When I become pregnant will this soreness be a "bad" thing I understand that pregnant women shouldn't over do it or push them selves I think that is why I am a little confused Please clarify Thank You Answer |

140 bpms??? Question Hi Carrie This is my first pregnancy and I am currently at 10 weeks I am a trained marathoner and endurance triathlete Is the suggested 140 heartbeats/minute during exercise still current or has it been determined as outdated 140 is my low range for exercise it feels like a casual walk for me I'm having a hard time adjusting Will it really hurt the little one inside if my heart rate goes up to 150 160 for short bursts during exercise I just don't feel like I'm even breaking a sweat otherwise I usually work out for 1 hour (swimming or running) or 1 5 hours for spin class 5 6 times a week I try to stay around 145 but sometimes get up to 155 for short burts I feel great after exercise No pain no shortness of breath no cramping no dizziness What are your thoughts Thank you Kim M Answer |
