Are you breastfeeding? My breastfed daughter would poop once a week. No big deal. However, when I switched her to cows milk she got really constipated, really hard poops and lots of crying and straining. First my doctor said try prune juice. That didn't work. Next she recommended Miralax. That did work. It is very mild and now I give it to her everyday. Ask you doctor if it is okay for you 5 mo. |

I have a 7 week old and my doctor suggested Karo syrup with warm water ( 1tblspn to 4oz) and it worked. |

Oh that is so terrible...I feel for you!
Since you posted has she pooped?
I remember a friend of mine, an adult, who couldn't poo and she tried everything: suppositories, medicine, beans, lentils, you name it.
anyway 6 weeks later, after much pain, suffering and swelling around her tummy, she found 'an old wives tale' that worked...
it was a candied almond used as a suppository with a little olive oil to help it go in.
Honestly, I don't know what it was but it worked...it unblocked her. If any of you can explain it...let me know |
