Herbs   Question Can you give me some names of herbs that I can research and use on my own I really can't afford to see a herbalist or accupuncturist at this time and I just feel like I am losing precious time if I wait until after the holidays to set up a visit I have written to you before about my 2 miscarriages in August and September I have taken 2 months to rest and now want to TTC again at age 44 I asked you for referrals and you suggested Accufinder I found a few possibilities but they ask about 150 for the first and 50 60 per visit thereafter at 2 visits per week atleast I also have to drive 90 miles to get to the location At this point I am very discouraged I also went to 3 different OBs and they all seemed to brush me off as a crazy old woman Please offer any advice if you can I am all about natural and healthy lifestyle and consider myself very healthy and youthful Thank you

Pregnancy After Miscarriage Question Hello Victoria This might seem like an odd question but have you ever heard of Ovulex Well I started taking it September 24th and took it every day as indicated and today is October 23rd I have not gotten my period yet it was due October 14th Do you think that maybe my cycle could have changed because of that I am very afraid to take a HPT because I miscarried my first baby in July at 11 weeks so I don''t want to get happy or anxious again I feel so afraid that it might happen to us again and I don't want to get my hopes high so I would like for you to tell me if you know anything about the product It is said to contain all natural ingredients and I'm good at taking natural supplements over any kind of doctor prescribed medicine I know you are an herbalist so what could you tell me about the products ingredients Thank you so much for your time

Conception after miscarriage and ovarian cyst Question I had a miscarriage at 9 weeks in May 2007 two months later a ovarian cyst the size of a tennis ball was removed Since the miscarriage I have not had a period and my gynie advised me to go back on birth controll pills (tryphasil) for 3 months to regulate my cycle but even this has not helped Blood tests were done to measure my hormone levels but this all came back normal as well as the ultra sound I had done a month ago I eventually seeked a 2nd opinion and was advised to discontinue using birth controll if I wanted to fall pregnant To date still no period so how do I monitor my cycle to find out when I will be ovulating To date nobody has been able to give me a straight answer We desperately want to fall pregnant again but the last 6 months have been extremely frustrating

Endometriosis and PCOS Question My husband and I have been trying to conceive for over 4 years I am 27 years old and I have PCOS and stage 2 or 3 endometriosis I was diagnosed in July 2006 although I began displaying symptoms of PCOS at 17 and endo at 21 I had the laproscopic surgery in Sept 2006 and completed 4 months on lupron (until the migraines got so bad I had to quit) We then tried two rounds of injectables which I responded well to but I didn't get pregnant I am taking a break from the RE's office until next summer to finish paying off our failed infertility attempts My cycles are not regular (although they were up until 2 years ago) With the endo I have severe cramps for about 1 week every cycles and heavy periods (and painful sex during most of the cycle) My cycles are normally 24 27 days but I have had a couple recently about 31 days With the PCOS I have insulin resistance 70 lbs I need to lose hair loss and excess hair elsewhere I do not ovulate on my own and I have the string of pearls on my ovaries I am starting to try to lose weight with a low carb diet (& adding lots of veggies) and exercise to reduce my insulin resistance I have cut out all sodas and artificial sweeteners Besides a daily multivitamin and the diet plan I mentioned is there anything else I can do to help get my body back to normal Also do you know a herbalist and acupuncturist in the Tulsa OK area What are my chances of conceiving with both PCOS and endometriosis

Sex after D&C Question I was just wondering if it’s safe to have sex three weeks after a d&c I had my post op appointment on 11/13 and my doctor said all is fine She also said that we are in the clear to have sex but I wanted your opinion first I’m a little nervous As always thank you so much

Strange Periods Question Me again Okay at the end of July I miscarried due to a placental abruption my doc said to wait a cycle and we could try again In August I had a normal albeit heavy period We have "tried to conceive" every other day for months now In September my period came 5 days early and only last a day and a half Took a grip of tests on the day it should have come and a week later all negative Then in October period was right on time however for two days I had a brown discharge then a one day period brown discharge for another day I get too depressed seeing the negative results on the tests so I've been praying for morning sickness before I take another Also I had to change jobs recently and my health benefits won't kick in for another 30 or so days so I can't really afford to go in the doctor at this time I really have two questions any idea what's going on with my body Residual miscarriage effects Or if I'm not pregnant how do I calculate for ovulation The last day of bleeding or the last day of brown stuff Thanks to this website and its posters for everything they have helped me with

clomid and ovulation Question I took Clomid (50mg) for the first time this cycle I took it on days 3 7 I usually ovulate on day 13 or 14 (I took Clomid to try to cause multiple eggs to be released because of a chromosome problem and recurrent m/c ) When I went for a check on day 12 I had 1 follicle 18x19 (mm ) and good uterine lining and plenty of cm Also on day 12 I had a blood draw and had a high estradiol but non elevated LH I didn't get the exact numbers We did not do OPKs but I am taking BBTs I did have a drop in BBT on day 12 as I have noticed before but my BBT did not become elevated until day 19 Is it possible that I didn't ovulate until day 18 6 days after the cd12 exam If so could there have been further change in the size and number of follicles If I probably ovulated sooner why did it take a while for BBT to rise Thank you for your time

Spotting at 7 weeks Question Hello I will be 7 weeks in 2 days About 8 days ago I noticed pink spotting when I went to the bathroom so I called the emergency line at my OB GYN They said the only thing we could do is wait and see I called the office the next morning and they had me get labs done My HCG was over 30 000 (it was only around 900 in week 5) The spotting seemed to have stopped also They also asked me to come in the next morning for an ultrasound Everything seemed to be fine and they heard the heartbeat around 118 bpm They did a vaginal exam and said they did not see any more bleeding Well the next afternoon I started spotting again and I assumed it was from the vaginal exam I had another set of labs done that same night and my hcg was well over 40 000 My question is why am I still spotting It has been a week and a day since I first started spotting It is very light and is either a light pink or a light brown I have not had intercourse for almost 2 weeks now (drs instruction) so I know it isn't from that I am not cramping and I know what a miscarriage feels like b/c I had one about 5 months ago What could be the cause for the spotting Is this something that I can expect throughout the pregnancy Thanks

CM after ovulation Question What should your cervical mucus be like after ovulation I have been charting BBT and CM for the last few months This month I noticed that my CM is still plentiful after ovulation I ovulated on Day 16 and today is Day 23 I think in the past few months my cervical mucus was dry and gone after ovulation Could this be a possible sign of impending pregnancy

is something wrong Question I am 6 weeks and 4 days pregnant I went to the doctor on wed and my hcg was 4000 and I had a ultra sound and it said I was 5 weeks and 4 days I went back for my levels today and they were 5000 I am going back on tues for another level check and then back on friday for an ultra sound I have two health children ages 15 and 18 I am 39 and had a m/c in july of this year Do you think anthing is wrong I am not cramping or hurting at all When the doctor did my pap on wed there was a little blood on the q tip But I always have a little blood every time I get a pap Not sure what is going on but I am hoping that I don't lose this baby The last one was devesting for my

Negative Pregnancy Test after D&C Question I had a d&c procedure done on 10/30 so it’s been almost two weeks Last night (11/08) I took a pregnancy test (the real sensitive one that reads 20 ml of hgc) and it was negative Does this means that the hgc hormones have left my system and I can expect to ovulate in the next couple of weeks I just want my system to get back to normal Thanks for your help

Another question about prometrium Question So I was told you were to start your period a couple days after you have been taking the pills Well I am on day 6 out of 10 and started my peroid today Is this ok SHould I count it as day one of my cycle I am suppose to be taking clomid day 3 7 Thanks

Biopsy of Uterus Question DH and I have been ttc for 3 months and no luck In that 3 months I have been having spotting on CD16 of a 27/28 day cycle It is always on that cycle day The first month it was very little brown spotting the second month is was a lot of bright red blood like a period and then last month is was it was a tiny bit of brown The month of the bright red blood I called my obgyn Also for the past 5 or 6 months I have been having a little brown spotting exactly two days before af Before ttc I never had spotting in my life I have been off bc for over a year When I called my doc she did blood work to check my thyroid prolactin levels immunity for measles mumps & rhuebella I also had a pap smear done and a culture and even an internal and external ultrasound Everything came back normal and healthy I called her back and told her that I had the spotting again and she now wants me to have a biopsy of my uterus I am so scared because I don't want anyone messing with my uterus while ttc My doc knows that I'm trying to have a baby and she scheduled it on a day that she said wouldn't interfere with ttc Do you think that I should have the biopsy done or do you think there is some other tests that she can do first Also do you have any suggestions to what this spotting is from Thank you so much

Easy on the espresso please? – Caffeine and Fertility Question Caffeine and Fertility Hi I also posted a similar question to the mid wife but I’ve a some girl friends who are also trying to get pregnant and they all seem to be starbucks and diet coke fiends Actually they are really just big fans of caffeine in general Now that several of my friends are trying to conceive should they cut back on their caffeine intake I guess what I’m asking is are they’re any studies or information on the effects of caffeine on one’s fertility Thanks

Ovulation temp. shift Question Hi I have 2 questions 1) I just had a 0 5 temperature shift on CD12 However it only shifted back to the coverline I had my first above coverline shift on CD15 but was only a 0 2 degree raise Confused was CD11 or CD14 my ovulation 2) My last period was medium for about 2 days then stopped for a day then started medium light for another day and half and then stopped again This is my second period after my m/c I've never had a period start and stop and start again before Is it indicative of any fertility problems I should get checked out Thanks

Taking prometrium Question My doctor put me on prometrium because I am having troubles starting my period in a timely manner I was wondering when I should start my period when taking these pills I was told to take them for 10 days I was a little confused though because I thought the medical assistant told me I should start on the second day of taking these pills Did she mean the second day after I finish the pills That is what I read somewhere I was also wondering before I got pregnant and miscarried which was my first pregnancy my cycle seems like it is having a lot of trouble getting back to normal Have you heard any reasons for this problem Its just getting frustrating because since May I have gone from being on my period for weeks to not being able to get my period and having trouble ovualting Since I obviously ovulate since I have been pregnant We can't even try to have a baby Just wondering if you had any thoughts on that as well Thanks

I am not sure? Question Hi after coming off the depo injection over 2 years i have been trying to concieve ever since I started to take fertilaid supplements to help my period become more regular as it was months in between it was great as I was on a 28day cycle for 2 periods then the last time I came on it was the 13th September but I was on my period for 3 weeks and had some clotting so I thought its my body just getting back to normal since then no period but I had a weird pink like discharge on the 21st of Oct and I have still no period I did a test yesterday and its neg could I still be pregnant I have had weird cramping and lower back pain also I have been extremely tierd I had terrible heartburn last night and a head ache i would appreciate some info thanks x

hcg levels Question I am confused with HCG levels Do they double in 48 or 72 hours (2 3 days ) my appointment is not till a few days but a nurse told me if it does not double in two days something is wrong then I read on the internet it is from 2 3 days in 48 hours its expected anywhere from 60 66 and by three days double on 15 DPO (days past ovulation ) my hcg was 222 on 17 dpo (which would be 48 hrs later as blood is drawn at the same time 8 am in the morning it was 382 48 hours again I had another blood test 19 dpo the number was 520 she told me I had no chance of a good pregnancy :(

Pregnancy after a D&C Question I was wondering if it is safe to get pregnant after one cycle after a d&c I had a d&C done three days ago because I had a missed miscarriage my baby's heart stopped at 8 weeks but was not discovered until my 11th week This is my second miscarriage The first one was in March '07 at 6 weeks due to a chemical pregnancy (blighted ovum) Does my chance of miscarrying increases since I already have two back to back Thanks for your help

Back pain and pain on right side Question Hello I'm 5 weeks pregnant I'm worried since i had a M/C earlier Is it ok to have lower back pain shooting pain on the right side Does implantation occurs to the right side of the uterus Last time when I mc i had similar symptoms and in ultrasound it was seen a cyst in my right ovary (that was possibly causing the pain) dr said cyst is formed to support the pregnancy Is that what i'm going thru again Is it ok to have white discharge now Thanks

Pregnant ????? Question I had a M/C July 10 th shortly after we have been trying my periods have been really normal right on time I had noticed that on my fertilty tracker it said I should have been ovulating but I wasn't I checked myself I ovulated late into my cycle and we had intercourse when I was fertile Also when I was pregnant the last time the doctor said I ovualted late in my cycle So anyway I took one of those 5 day sooner HPT and it came up neg which I knew it would because I had just ovualated Well now I am having cramping and I felt a few times like I was going to have my period the last time this happened I was pregnant I just don't know when I should take a pregnancy test I was supposed to have my period on Oct 28 and I ovulated like not even a week before that I think I just have that weird feeling in my stomach the cramps are pretty stong sometimes but the thing is I never get pre period cramping I just am scared and don't want to wait too long or too soon to take a test just because of what happened las time I currently don't have an OB What should I do Thanks Ashley

Pregnancy Question I had a M/C in July at about 4 1/2 weeks I recently found out I am pregnant again (this is week 5) I had 2 blood tests last week and my HCG more than doubled between tests and I was told my progesterone was good also However I really have not had any symptoms other than sore boobs for the past 2 days and it is starting to worry me Is this normal I was feeling tired and queasy and cramping (like period cramps but no bleeding) but now everything seems to have disappeared I probably won't have an ultrasound for a couple of weeks and any reassurance you can give me is appreciated Thanks
