clomid and progesterone check   Question Hello I went to my doctor for irregular periods and told him I was having a hard time getting pregnant I have been off BC for a year now He suggested that I take 5omg of clomid I am wondering why he suggested to take this Does it have anything to do with helping me to ovulate My directions for taking this is to take it on cycle day #3 7 and have sex on cycle days 11 13 15 17 I am suppose to come in on one of these cycle days 22 24 and have my progestrone checked I am wondering the purpose in this check Is it suppose to see if I am pregnant or to see if the medicine has worked Please any infromation will help Thank you Dianna

mthfr Question Hi just wondering if you could tell me anything about MTHFR I have 2 mutations and am taking folic acid prenatal b6 b12 and baby aspirin right now (ttc 5dpo) anyway my doctor tested for factor 2 and 5 and i came back negative but i didn't know if i can still have a normal pregnancy or if i am at risk because i was reading a lot of websites that people were taking shots(my doctor didn't seem to think i needed shots) and they were having many complications any info you could give me on mthfr or HELPFUl websites would be great to understand a little of what i have thanks : )

Alpha Hydroxyprogesterone 17 Question Vickie My OBGYN tested my progesterone levels and they are at 23 and I'm 7 weeks pregnant She says this is low and wants to put me on 17 Alpha Hydroxyprogesterene (250 mg) I'm already on 200mg of Prometrium I'm a little leary about this new drug I did some research online and found that they're still not sure how this drug affects the fetus inutero How do you feel about this Would I be safe just to stay with the 200mg of Prometrium My spotting has nearly stopped and I'm not as scared as I once was Any advice you can give would be helpful Thanks again Suzanne

pregnant after 6 miscarriages Question I have had 6 miscariages and now I am pregnant again and 41/2 weeks My doctor has started me on progesterone gel 1x a day I'm feeling pretty good besides tired I am just wondering if this progesterone is just giving me a false sense of hope Am I really feeling these small pregnancy symptoms or is it just because I am taking progesterone supplements I never have many symptoms my boobs don't even really hurt I do have 3 beautiful children and each pregnancy is different I'm trying not to be too positive and not too negative all at the same time Any advice I just don't want to lose a 7th baby

MOTRIN causes miscarriages?? Question Thankyou I followed your advice after you responded to my last question and I did lots of research I found that www resolve org seemed more "commercial" than helpful I read some enticing ads then was asked for money before any details were given IVF connections did not appeal to me because my husband and I want to try more of a natural approach and we also have a limited budget My research did lead me to discover that IBUPROFEN might have played a role in my miscarriage I found that there is new research/reviews that claim that Motrin (or others like Advil or Aspirin) when taken around time of conception or very early in the first trimester can cause up to 85 miscarriage rate I did take Motrin for a headache while we were camping in the mountains I thought the altitude was causing the headache and I used the motrin for 2 3 days at the normal dose about 2 times a day The timing was about the time implantation was occurring What do you think of this Is it possible that this little amount of a common medicine could have so dashed my hopes I am very upset about this and I want to yell a warning to all women Dashed Hopes

weight and TTC Question how much effect does a person's weight effect their ability to get pregnant I am overweight however i am shedding the pounds i have conceived before but had a m/c my fertility specialist has put me on birth control for a few months to get my cycle back on track he said he would like me lose some weight before ttc again or before he would try me on fertility medications

trying agian Question Hi there I had a d/c on june 29 after we found out the baby had no heart beat when i was 9 wks After that I have had a period every 14 16 days lasting 3 4 days My doctor put me on b/c for the next 2 months to striaghten out my cycle because i'm not having success getting preg agian with this short cycle My question is there anything I can be doing naturally or taking as a supplement to make sure that when I go off b/c my cycle does not return to every two weeks Thanks for any advise and your time

ovulation after miscarriage Question Hi I just had a miscarriage on 8/22 I bled for about 2 weeks and my HGC levels are almost down to normal again I have been paying attention to my cervical mucus and it is thickening again just like it always does every month Is it possible to ovulate around the same day of your cycle that your body normally does counting the miscarriage day as day one Is it possible to ovulate even though my numbers are still not quite below 25 Thank you

Could i be pregnant? Question About a month ago i went to my doctor I told my obygn that i could squeeze (i think its milk) out of my breasts The doctor just told me it was nothing I'm worried because about nine months ago i had a still born baby The only werid thing about my last pregnancy is that my pregnancy test didn't come up until i was five months pregnant Could i be pregnant with me being able to squeeze this white stuff out of my breast Do i need to see another obgyn Is there another test i can take to make sure i am pregnant or a test that a doctor could do thank you

quality of sperm count Question hello I'm very thankful for your earlier advices and they would be of great help when i TTC I have heard that sitting in hot water like spas etc affect the quality o sperms Is sitting once a week for 10 15 mins can affect too Thanks

HPT Question If I took a HPT 1 day after a missed period and it came back negative but i still haven't started should i wait another couple of days and try again I'm having headaches going to the bathroom more often and get tired easily Thanks

miscarriage or new cycle? Question Hi I had my period the 19th of August and it lasted 5 days The 3rd of October my hubby and I did the baby dance then the 4th of Oct I started to spot and now I am pretty much having another period Enough to use a tampon I don't understand what is going on Hubby and I weren't rough and didn't hurt at all My cycles have been 45 days apart for months now and it is strange to all of a sudden have it 17 days apart What do you think is going on There are some clumps or clots but some very small tissue looking things no bigger than the point of a pencil I had a miscarriage in December of last year and I never really had pain but these clot things look alot what came out when I had my miscarriage This time I don't think I even had time to ovulate and miscarry agian but I'm needing answers so any would be appreciated We have been ttc since Nov of last year with 1 miscarrige in Dec no luck since Thanks in advance

Is this the right time Question Hello how are you doing today I know I haven't been on realsavvy moms in a very long time but I had my reasons because our doctor recomended that we waited a year prior to our misscarrage to do testing but he said we can try to concieve and if it didn't work to come see him and now it will be a year in november 2007 but our doctor wanted us to come in on the 24th of this month to start fertility testing to see what's stopping us from getting pregnant and to help get pregnant Do you think it will be good to go ahead an start the fertility testing even though a year will be november I think it would be fine to go ahead and start I just really need a second person to agree I have a question to ask you and i will apreciate your response after my first misscarrage I have been having abdominal pains and every time I go to the doctor its always something else but when i take the meds they give me i'll hurt all over again I feel liks my overies hurt so could there be something wrong with my overies and will it affect my chances of getting pregnant Thank you in advance

One more Hurdle after another.... Question Type the title here Hello Victoria My Husband and I have been together for 10 yrs and are finally ready to start a family As of 4 months ago we started seeing a fertility Doctor whom has to alot of first time moms labeled a Miracle Worker We started with all the basic testing and questions that you start out with for infertility and I am now at a crossroad My last test I had was so horrible it was the Hystosalpinogram I went in and the nurses and doctors were great so nice and made me feel at ease The test how ever wasn't so nice lets just say the balloon came out of me 3 times and the nurse had to hold it inside of me so that the doctor could finish (not to mention the PAIN with everytime the doctor put the tube inside me (3xs) I have a follow up appt with my doctor in another week and I being so inpatient to have a child called for my results upon a return phone call found out from my nurse that my tubes are blocked I think the blood literally drained from my face because my husband looked at me in a state of shock My question now I guess would be what are my chances of concieving and what is the next thing I do Do I try to unblock my tubes Is that even possible and Do I still have any hope Sincerly Mrs Tired of being a the #1 Aunt and Want 2 B an even better Mom

Gastric bypass and pregnancy Question I had gastric bypass surgery in June 2003 No complications I feel great and lost 100 lbs all I needed to lose I was just wandering if you have had much experience with pregnancy with a gastric bypass patient I am an LPN and have asked my Dr who assures me that all would be fine if I got pregnant It is just hard to rationalize how the baby would get enough nutrition since I can only eat a little here and there Would appreciate your comments Thank You

Blocked tubes? Question Hello Can having a miscarriage cause a tubal blockage I had a natural miscarriage Dec 07 and have been TTC for 6 months without success I was never given an ultrasound to ensure everything had been disspelled but my HCG levels returned to 0 I have this concern that there may be an issue with conceiving since I wasn't thoroughly checked out My husband and I will be having a fertility talk with the dr about the next steps What are the next steps in regards to tests drugs etc Thanks

hey! i had a question about hcg levels Question hey how are you i've wrote you a decent amount about my last pregnancie i miscarried and that was the end of june and i'm 6 weeks pregnant now yay and the docs sya the pregnancy is going good i've made it past my last pregnancy so far and no bleeding that makes me happy but every time i go to the bathroom i always worry about blood being on the toilet paper ok anyways i went to the doctor had my hcg level took and i was 5 weeks at that time and the hcg levels was 17 000 and the doc said that was pretty high is that good or bad should i be worried it that normal

miscarriage Question I am 44 and recently had an IUD removed due to unrelated medical problem in January My youngest son is 8 years In July I became pregnant unexpectedly and I found to my incredible delight Sadly I miscarried 2 weeks later Now my husband and I want to really try to get pregnant ("awake oh sleeping giant") For all 3 of my sons I took clomid to get pregnant They were born when I was 30 33 and 36 Can I use clomid safely again at my age How soon I am extremely healthy and athletic at age 44 with no current medical problems I know I am running against a ticking clock Thank you for any encouragement

miscarriage Question In January 2007 I had a miscarriage my sono revealed no fetal pole no heartbeat i had a D&C August 2007 I was 9 weeks pregnant and had been having brown staining the staining became heavier and i had a sono again no fetal pole no heart beat I chose to pass the sack at home About 5 days later I had a sono and it showedI passed the empty sacks (there were two) My doctor told me to try again My husband have since had relations (not trying to concieve) but we were sad and missing eachother Now my breasts hurt as if I am pregnant How can that be Do you think I should be concerned

4 weeks pregnant w/ back pain Question Hi I am 4 weeks pregnant with lower back pain for about 3 days now I previously had a m/c in May at 7 weeks 4 days Mu back pain is really worring me I really want this baby I have gone to the doctors and had my blood drawn to check my levels and I will get the results today plus I have to go back in tomorrow to get blood drawn again to compare the numbers Should I be overly concerned about the back pain I was also sanding alot and painting over the weekend before I found out I was pregnant Thank you in advance for answering my question Faith

Hystopingagram what is this? Question Hi Victoria I am the girl that has had 5 chemical pregnancys in a row now my Doc wants to do a histopinga gram I know its spelled incorrectly but what it is is this he injects dye into my uterious it travles up and thru my tubs and ovaries then drips into my body cavity He takes x rays thru the whole process My question to you is is it safe and is it a good Idea to blast my reproductive part with all this radiation I have also gotten a list of blood work they are as follows I know they will be spelled incorrectly so please bare with me Lupis Anti coagualte Anti cari Lipon Methal folate reductose Pro thrombin Homosistine levels Progesterone thyroid chromisomes ProtineS factor 5 and protine C All tests came back normal except methal folate I had one copy positive and then he did my fasting homo sistine and it was normal I look forward to any more information you can provide me Thank you ofr reading and I look forward to your reply Kind reagards Mary

could I be pregnant? Question Hi I had a m/c on 7/19/07 & I was only 5 wks 3 days pregnant When I got my period on 8/16/07 I took Clomid for 5 days starting day 3 I had sex on 8/26/07 8/28/07 & 8/29/07 A few days later I noticed breast tenderness blurry vision (very blurry) get very hungry & fatigue (very sleepy) Last night I woke up 2:00 am due to nausea (also had it a couple days before during the day) I have also noticed my lower abdomen feels full and have a white discharge The first time I got pregnant I had breast tenderness a few days after I was fertile that was one of the reasons why I thought I could be pregnant Another thing I have noticed is that the first time I got pregnant I had cravings for sweets & for this past days I have been craving different home made dishes & all I think about is food not sweets Some of the sxs are almost the same as the 1st time but I noticed that my breasts are not very tender like the 1st time can it be that if I'm pregnant I'll be having another m/c because the HcG levels may be going down I also can't wait to do a pregnancy test but I know it is too soon & I am afraid of going through the same thing as the 1st time

5 chemical pregnancys in a row Question Hi Victoria Thank you for getting back to me I agree with everything you said My doctor wants to do a Hystopinga gram sorry I know its spelled incorrectly he wants to inject dye into my uterous and take exrays as it travels up my tubes and overies and eventually drips out in to my body cavity How reliable is this test and is it safe Will it furter my problem blasting my reproductive parts with all that radiation and not to mention the dye I had a c section is there a chance I may have healed incorrectly and would that be better seen with a MRI One more thing instead of measuring my lining by biopsy for progesterone he only did a blood test was that wrong or do you get the same results the blood test came back fine All of my labs came back ok I had my thyroid checked and that was fine as well Again thank you for all of the information you have provided thus far I look forward to you reply again Kind regards Mary

Still have a question Question I got your reply and that's what I figured with my research I did make an appointment with my doctor and I can't get in to see her for two weeks I was still wondering if it is possible to get pregnant with any of these possible problems How long is too long before any of these possibilities causes a fertility problem Thanks again
