We have 9 month old boy/girl twins ( Ben & Gizelle) who keep waking up frequently at night. Here is the pattern:
They are feed a solid meal around 5pm and put to bed with 8 oz bottle of enfamil lipil . They would both get up at least once before midnight and drink about 4 ozs of milk and go right back to sleep BUT at seperate times... ( :o(
Then they wake up again around 2am for more milk. Finally they ae up like they drank REDBULL, ready to play at 5am sharp? What are your thoughts on this matter?

Hi Ben.
I was a twin myself (one of TWO sets of twins actually), so I can certainly appreciate what it's like to be in a family of multiples!
As for the sleep issue, many 9-month-olds seem to think it's perfectly appropriate to wake up at 5am. That doesn't make it any easier for you to manage, I know, but it's fairly common.
If you're rocking your children or holding them until they fall asleep when you put them to bed, stop doing that. Since children wake around 4 or 5 times a night due to dreams, they need to know how to go to sleep without help. Also, I know you say the children are ready to play when they wake up, but it sounds like they've started realizing that waking at 5 = playtime. Try putting your children to bed a little later every night to adjust their sleep pattern, and if they do wake up crying, check on them every 5.... Read More |
