child care expert   Thread Posted by Replies Views Date   Sleeping Issues Question My 22 month old has always been a hyper kid that refused to sleep   She basically nursed or screamed for the first 6months and her doctor said she was perfectly healthy   I follow attachment parenting she coslept until she wanted to be in her own bed at about 15 months   She still wants me to sleep with her when she is teething at least what I think is teething however talking to other moms it doesn't seem normal   She still has 7 teeth to come in yet and Im at my wits end going on 4 hours of sleep for the last 2 months   She wakes in the night and just screams and is completely irrational for between 2 and 4 hours until she finally poops herself back out and falls alseep in my arms for a little bit   She will consciously fight falling asleep to nap I have to try to drive or push her in her swing on her swingset so that she can't fight it and even then she'll usally scream and fight it right before she drops off   She also talks a lot and moves a lot in her sleep when she does sleep   These episodes will seem to happen around teething but will be for months then she will finally sleep for 10 hours a day for about a week and then go back to the same senario   I just don't know what I can do to help I have tried all the typical sleep advice of routines and whatnot   Is this some type of insomnia or teething or just something else that  I can't figure out   Her pediatrition says she's totally healthy Answer simone78 1 12 8/23/08 11:37 am   What to do? Question Kenlee is a 10 month old  snuggly (spoiled) baby girl who rules our house at night My husband and I are stumped on what to do   She used to sleep in her bed at night starting at 2 month and usually a majority of the night   Then when she turned 6 months old we moved into a new house and even though her room was the very last thing i took down at the old house and the first thing i put together at the new house she still took it hard during the night   So my husband and i being the softies that we are  (which is a majority of the problem we know) let her sleep with us when she woke up during the middle of the night Its not every single night that she sleeps with us either there is usually 2 night (hopefully) out of the week that she sleeps through the night in her own bed But there is more the worst thing we probably do is hold her and snuggle on the couch until she falls asleep then put her in her crib During naps she sleeps on couch secured or snuggling with mom or dad   My husband and i are willing to do whatever it takes because we know its for HER best interest we just dont know the proper way to handle this particular situation Please help us :) Answer Kenlee's Mommy 1 11 8/23/08 1:36 am   Twins : Waking up frequently for Bottles Question We have 9 month old boy/girl twins ( Ben & Gizelle) who keep waking up frequently at night Here is the pattern: They are feed a solid meal around 5pm and put to bed with 8 oz bottle of enfamil lipil   They would both get up at least once before midnight and drink about 4 ozs of milk and go right back to sleep BUT at seperate times ( :o( Then they wake up again around 2am for more milk Finally they ae up like they drank REDBULL ready to play at 5am sharp   What are your thoughts on this matter   Answer Ben 1 31 8/6/08 5:33 pm   continus health problem Question Dear Madam / Sir My baby child was 1 4 years old But the problem was continueous her problem arises that of fever Lose motion and Vomiting That in every after 7 days I gave her to feed AMUL and Lactogin I cheak in medical that her sugar found in stool So for this what to do always Answer prasanta 1 23 6/20/08 5:14 am   My 11th month old odd behaviour...is it really odd? Question Hello I am mother of 2 wonderfull kids a 3 year old daughter and 11 month old son And it is my sons behaviour that concerns me at times I am not sure weather I am beeing oversensitive or not I can only compere his developement to my 3 year old daughter ( I have never been around many children) and even though I realize that every child develops differently some of the things he does started to frighten me a little For example yesterday I found him  benging his head on the wall repeateadly it was not hard enough to hurt him but definately  scary enough to concern me also when he is happy he tends to shake is head from left to right extremly fast he never cries with tears when he is upset he just screems also he's speach seems to be delayed  I do not know if he is just beeing baby boy Unfortunately we ignore all warning from other parents about not letting our child sleep in our bed Since the 1st day he was born we allowed him to take naps in our bed but would put him in his crib to sleep at night Now he is 4 months old and refuses to sleep in his own crib  I know this is basically our fault but we are now suffering the consequences of our actions There is also a part of me that worries to have him sleep all by himself I feel like I won’t hear him crying in the middle of the night versus him being right next to me and watching him sleep It all comes down to what is sleeping Question My little girl is 3 since April of '07 she gets out of bed several times a night   She goes out  sleep on the coach and then if she hears me up she wakes up and it is hard to get her to stay in bed   we've been to the doctor and have beedn told we tried every tecnique but she still won't stay in bed   She goes to bed good we sit quietly where she can see us and falls asleep within have read countless books (easy 2 do as he wont sleep ) and tried a variety of methods We stick to the same routine every night Last thing before bed we have wind down time and he has a bottle of warm milk Shortly after we put him to sleep in his cot So initially there is no problem he doesnt protest and actually goes down quite calmly Roughly 2 hours or more after he has gone down he will wake up and start crying and wont stop until someone retrieves him We check on him and there is nothing wrong So we decided we would try a different method let him cry it out So that sounds pretty logical you would think that he would cry for less time or realise nobody is coming and give it up Not my son he will keep continuously crying eventually he falls asleep but then a few hours later he starts again Sometimes we give in and bring him to our bed once he is in the comfort of our bed he falls asleep immediately and sleeps through How do we get him to sleep through on his own Sleep deprivation is killing us During the day he gets plenty of activity and has even stopped having his afternoon nap We have also tried several different routines What we find is that the majority of textbooks etc all is has respiratory complications from having RSV at 3 months so he is always congested but he will start crying more like a wimper and I go to just check on him and he is sleeping but sitting up and crying I try to console him when he cries and is awake we let him cry it out and fall back asleep or give him his pacifier and goes right back down however he is very figity and seems to want to lay down I put him back in the crib laying down but he sits back up and wimpers till I give him his pacifer back which he slits out within 10 minutes after he lays back down Have you heard of this before
