aged womb

I am 35 and having my sixth baby.  I am 40 weeks pregnant and this time around i am still sitting at home with every sign of labor, bloody show, back pain, cramping, the contractions start but never progress they just fade after a couple hours.  Could i have a tired or aged uterus that will not contract due to it being old and tired.  In all my other preganancies i have lots of contractions and even in the beginging of this one my uterus was so hard that i was put on large doses of magnesium.  Please help my doc will not listen to me, i need information.  Thanks
