Jen Groover Biography

Jennifer Groover, founder and CEO of Jen Groover Productions, has enough energy to power the Eastern seaboard, but instead she pours it into simultaneously running a growing empire focused on the business of innovation and maintaining a healthy balance at home. There she nurtures the development of two-year-old twin girls, who provide daily inspiration to this business woman-innovator-inventor-entrepreneur-designer-mother-wife & yet she still finds the time to shut the phone off at 5 p.m. and focus on her most important venture, her family.

In a remarkably short period of time, Jennifer Groover has not only begun to revolutionize every sector of business and design that she comes in contact with, but she is simultaneously starting to revolutionize the way people look at business, innovation, and life balance at the same time. Her fulfillment of a request to speak at Time Inc. on 'Re-Igniting Creativity' is a testament to just that. Jen is a trusted expert on innovation and has always known it would be part of her future. While some longed to be doctors or teachers, Jen always knew she was, and would be, an 'idea person'. Now she longs for the day when 'innovator' will be a choice on every child's career prospects, and Chief Creative Director will be the norm at every company. As Marvin Angel, CEO of Bentley Kids LLC and Chairman of Shun Tat Enterprises stated, "Jennifer Groover is one of the most dynamic entrepreneur/inventors that I have ever encountered in my 35 years in business. Her innovation and her ability to understand the needs of the modern woman will revolutionize the way women do things and the things they use to do them with".

From a childhood spent as the latch-key daughter of two successful and self-made entrepreneurs, Jen was not only instilled with an "empowered to dream and believe philosophy" but forced to nurture her creative and innovative spirit by relying on herself for both care taking and entertainment. A prime example of that same 'necessity is truly the mother of invention' attitude she adopted as a child is the development and subsequent success of the Butler Bag, just one of the ten patents and eight trademarks Jen Groover Production LLC holds. A harried mother of twin baby girls at this point in her life, Jen turned a moment of panic: digging for a credit card in a messy purse in a busy store while balancing a screaming baby on each hip, into a moment of inspiration: the creation of the Butler Bag, a sleek, stylish, and compartmentalized handbag that offers women both form and function. Jen's little stroke of genius has walked the Red Carpet in both the Emmys , Miami Vice Premiere, and Video Music Awards, and graced the pages of Us Weekly and Life & Style Magazine during this, its first year.

With the success of her handbag line, one would be quick to pass Jen off as a gifted designer who knows what women want, but that would only be describing one of the many areas on innovation she has undertaken. While launching her Butler Bag, Jen drew on her studies in education and psychology to create a children's category of toys and tools, called Hurdle Hoppers which soon became a part of the ever growing Jen Groover Productions. With this branch of the company Jen identified an emerging niche in the market by providing parents with problem-solution products that are developmental toys and tools for children. In association with this she launched a television show, called "A Mom's Life" and penned a book of the same title.

In addition to her many undertakings, Jen is also a successful on-air guest host on QVC, to which she credits giving her profound experience in understanding media sales.

Additionally, Jen has successfully co-launched a line of 'edu-tainment' games that are sold at Borders, Barnes & Noble as well as FAO Schwartz. Plans are already hatched to supplement these games with a television show, books, Internet resources, and seminars, and the books are the fastest selling non-advertised games in the history of many locations.

Jen currently has three television shows in development, and though each is as unique and diverse as all of her other projects, the driving force behind her whole life, innovation and entrepreneurial spirit, will play a primary role in two set to debut on network television within the next year.

Because Jen constantly surrounds herself with entrepreneurs, one of her goals is to be instrumental in bringing their ideas to market as well. To this end, she runs another company called Jenuine Concepts, in which she has partnered with another female entrepreneur to take these ideas and strategize how and where they would best succeed in the marketplace. Currently, they represent twelve companies, and are growing rapidly. She also shares her business acumen at regular sessions at the Learning Annex, at which her class holds the record of the highest rated customer satisfaction and benefit. In addition to business undertakings, Jen is a frequent contributor to several national and Internet publications, is a member of the Trendwatching Organization, as well as the 3% Club, a premier international entrepreneur organization and Ladies Who Launch. Due to her success as an entrepreneur and 'Mompreneur', Jen was recently featured in the Washington Post as well as Fashion Wire Daily discussing her life and business style, as well as how motherhood has rejuvenated a successful career as an entrepreneur. She also writes and speaks frequently on life as a "Hybrid Mom", redefining the role of a mother and acting as a driving force in the business world, the economy, and - most importantly - her children and family's lives. Because of her ongoing entrepreneurial growth, desire to succeed, innovative spirit and passion for people, Jen Groover has become a successful and balanced businesswoman who refuses to pick just one box to fit in, and instead to thrive in all of them. Jen Groover resides in Philadelphia with her husband and twin daughters. In true Hybrid Mom fashion she manages to work from home, though due to increasing business she is in New York City frequently enough to nearly call it home as well. Back to
