Hello: My beautiful baby girl is 32 months and does not like to play well with others.... she is an only child which means she did not grow up around any other toddlers....plz help me ASAP!!! Jasmime |

All two and three year olds have trouble playing well with others - it is developmentally appropriately that your not-quite-three year old does not like to share or take turns. CHildren who have little experience playing with other children are even more likely to have trouble in those areas.
Sometimes only children are catered to so much that they believe they are the most important person in the world. If you always attend to her needs immediately, if you never make her wait, she will come to believe that this is how the world works..
If you want your daughter to play better with other kids, offer her more experiences doing so. SPend time with friends and their kids, go to a park, or join a music class for toddlers. Talk to her about sharing, and give her opportunities at hom.... Read More  |
